TOPCOAT
started business by doing decorative painting and stenciled wood floors. The
Company then expanded into decorative stamped concrete floors. TOPCOAT artisans
experimented with polymered concrete and modified concrete to apply to vertical
surfaces and ceilings; they used a variety of techniques including spraying,
troweling, and brushing. Eventually, they created 3-D features such as murals,
stone blocks, and mosaics. Next, they realized freestanding creations such as
trees, furniture, built-ins, bar, and concrete countertops.
Another technique the
Company developed is carving sheetrock, plaster, or foam, which is then sprayed
with concrete to create a carved rock effect. TOPCOAT artisans also realized
custom columns, arches and surface effects using texture and regular paints,
marmarino, and Venetian plaster.
